Gopher Apple

The Gopher Apple is a low groundcover native to Florida, and can be found near scrub brush, close to the coast (it does surprisingly well with salt-water spray), and in (like where I live) Sandhill Ecosystems. There are several large patches of this approximately one-inch long fruit that grow on my property, and almost every animal around eats them - they are particularly loved by gopher tortoises. And pollinators love the flowers, too! This yarn can only hope to be as well-loved by you... and with this gorgeous blend of pastels, who wouldn't love it?!

HaldeCraft HandDyed yarns started life in 2007 in a small yarn store in Gainesville, Florida (Hanks Yarn and Fiber) and was then called "Perhaps Today is a Good Day to Dye". It has continued online as HaldeCraft HandDyed since 2011, and is hand-dyed and lovingly re-skeined in a small home studio by someone who loves the fiber arts just as much as you do. All of my yarns are hand-dyed singly or in batches of two. If you would like to order for a large project, please contact me and I will be more than happy to dye your order with every attempt to get each skein as matching as possible. However, as with all hand-dyes (not just my own) I recommend working from alternating balls on larger projects as even yarns dyed at the same time may not be perfectly matched.

This yarn was dyed in a smoke-free, but not pet-free studio; however, once dyed it is kept sealed in bags inside bins which studio dogs do not have access to.
